Moab 2K+1: Story and Photos...
Days 8 and 9:

We drove up the coast, most of the way through Oregon on Monday. Stan and Dan had gotten back to Vancouver the previous night.

Picture: Me, in the Oregon Dunes park.

Picture: Ray, 5 feet from where I was sitting in the last photo.

We camped in a park near the foot of Mount Saint Helens. Hardly anybody was camping there that night-- well, there was nobody anywhere near us. We had a fire-- we burned the firewood that Stan had packed out to Moab.

Picture: The fire. I was hoping that the faint light of the sky would shine through for this photo, but it didn't. (I left the shutter on the camera open for about a second, but I guess it was darker out than I'd thought previously)

Picture: The moon shining through some trees. The trees were lit from the flash, and then the moon must've gotten blurred over the next second as I left the shutter open and the camera was shaken slightly. It was quite beautiful.

We left Tuesday morning, stopped at Boeing Surplus Sales and the outlet stores in Burlington, WA. Got back to Vancouver with no major incidents!

Picture: The last picture of the roll, sitting on the rood of my car (in the self-timer mode) outside of Ray's house. The end of the trip! Good trip, guys! We'll try again next year, and hopefully get to go on more than one ride in Moab!

And that was our semi-sucessful Moab trip for 2001!
