Moab 2K+1: Story and Photos...
Day 5:

On Friday we went for a bike ride in Boulder City, NV (as you drive through the city, it's straight out of the 60s!). As Stan and Dan left, they urged us to get food at a drive-thru rather than eat a sit-down breakfast... We tried to follow Dan's written directions for how to get to the mountain biking area, but we couldn't figure them out. So, while eating dinner *at* an A&W, we asked about the street names in Dan's directions. The workers there didn't know of those streets. Suddenly it hit me! The reason we couldn't read Dan's directions was because he's a doctor! (nobody can read a doctor's prescriptions, as we've all seen!). Eventually Ray figured out that we were to turn left at the Taco Bell and to go up Yucca Street. We decided to drive until we saw Stan's car.

Picture: So we drove up and up and up a dirt road, up to the top of a mountain, where there was a microwave tower (or some such thing)... Stan's car was nowhere to be seen at the top of the mountain.

Picture: Whatever this was at the top of the mountain, it looked pretty neat!

Not long after we got to the top, we could see Stan's Subaru driving up the mountain, waaay below us. When he finally got to the top, he asked why we hadn't stopped at the bottom of the mountain... So to get back down the mountain to the area where we were supposed to stop, I let Marc and Ray out so they could bike down. I drove my car down.
