01/16/2003: Depending on how my spare times goes in the next four months, prepare for a *major* update/revision to this website. When I say "major", I mean it.
01/16/2003: Well, as many of you have probalby noticed, this site hasn't been updated in a looooooong while. Today I finally took down the links to the non-working "videos" section. If you want to download anime videos, good places are Usenet and IRC-- I've downloaded hundreds of Gigabytes of anime from Usenet in the last couple of years, and I know people who've downloaded just as much from IRC. I'll leave it up to you to search the web to get yourself started.
11/25/2001: I've finally separated my two domain names! MTRS.org and Japanese-Animation.net now have different sets of pages! I'm also working on some new colour schemes. Note that if you're waiting for my server to come back for downloads, it won't be back until mid-to-late December.
08/15/2K+1: Mmmkay, today about 20% of the IP addresses accessing my server were making multiple connections simultaneously (3+ connections, since I don't filter for 2 connections). This is after removing all the false-accesses due to Code Red-infected computers trying to break into my non-IIS server. Those 20% made up well over 50% of the total volume downloaded from my server yesterday. What does this mean? This mean my server's going offline. I hope to bring it back online on Monday, but one thing's for certain: nobody will ever get 30+ KB/s when downloading from it again; the new server that I'm going to be testing for the next few days will have download speeds capped. When it comes back, I expect it will be bulletproof, and rather than waiting for me to ban people, it'll auto-ban people REALFAST. Temporary bans may be the norm, but people will be rebanned quickly if they aren't within my strict tolerances.
08/14/2K+1: Thanks to the idiots who totally ignored the *simple* rules that I had set out for my server (which allow everybody to get their files in a timely fashion), tomorrow's going to be a test-- if a huge number of people continue to abuse my 100% free service, run at MY EXPENSE, it goes offline. Please don't make me take this resource offline.
06/04/2K+1: Links to the movies has *finally* been repaired since my migration to Bluedomino's server. A couple months ago I acquired a new domain name-- MTRS.org (Mass Transit Really Sucks)... Eventually, I'll develop it into site dedicated to biking and with some automotive info. Well, maybe.
11/22/2K: Check out Streamload.com... several sites are starting to put their files in shared folders there. It's roughly the same concept as FreeDiskSpace and IDrive, except that I hope Streamload will be more reliable. If you sign up as a "freeloader" you can download up to 100MB per day, or if you pay more ($5-12) you won't have those download restrictions, and you'll get to download from different (less-busy) servers.
11/02/2K: I'm playing around a bit with the colours on the site; namely the text and link colours. If you have any suggestions, please email me at melchior@canada.com. I know that the Music and Movies sections look horrendous. I'll deal with them tomorrow because I really don't care enough right now.
10/18/2K: Wow! My site's blue now! ...well, mostly. Note the change in the graphics and such. I like it more this way. A few minor changes are still to come, but they're minor.
